This Is Me

I'm not very good at talking about myself...
Ok, just kidding. That was a total lie.
It's more like, I don't where to start when talking about myself. Whoops!
So, I'll just jump right in with a random fact.

I can spread my toes really far apart. Like, really far apart, y'all. Not gonna lie, kinda freaky. It's like I have spidey-feet. ANYWAYS, hope that didn't run anyone off. I promise the rest of me isn't that freaky..

I'm an almost 20-year-old natural blonde, currently brunette, born and bred in the oh-so-wonderful Tarheel state. I'm a former cheerleader and softball player (weird combination, huh? I got that a lot). I played some sort of ball my entire life, and played softball for over 10 years. I miss it so much! And as for cheerleading, I only did that for about 6 years, but they were some of the best years I've had by far!

I'm currently attending UNC-Chapel Hill (GO HEELS!) pursuing a major in psychology with a minor in cognitive science.  I have plans for graduate school in a clinical psychology program, but that's still a few years away.

I love to read -- anything you put in front of me.

My daddy and my brother are my heart and soul. My mom lost her battle with lung cancer when I was only 11 years old, so it's just been the 3 of us for quite a while now. We live our lives to the fullest that we can, but she left us with an empty space that we'll never be able to fill.  She is loved and missed more than anything in the world..

She serves as the biggest inspiration for my blog. The title of my blog "I Can Only Imagine.." comes from the song of the same name by MercyMe. This was one of her favorite songs. My web address...alighthouseonacoast...comes from her fascination with lighthouses. We climbed quite a few before she passed, and we had the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse on the Outer Banks inscribed onto her headstone.

I'm still a long way from having life figured out, but I'm hoping that through this blog, I'll be able to find some support in doing so, as well as lending my own to others when they need it most! Thanks so much, y'all...and I hope you enjoy! xo

Always,
Haley

Your "about me" is hilarious AND inspirational. What a story. You've been through a lot! And that song...I Can Only Imagine...is among my absolute favorites. I can't NOT sing it without tears and praise in my voice. :)

You're a strong young woman!
