"thoust suck" - wise words by Arie [Bachelorette Recap #5]

Okay, lovelies...I'm back and ready to deliver with my Bachelorette re-cap!
I was super excited about this episode for many reasons, two of the most important being...
1. Sean got a one-on-one
2. Kalon's dumb, selfish, arrogant butt was finally given the boot. [Insert very loud, obnoxious "hallelujah"]

I don't know about y'all, but for me, the season had kinda been lacking in the excitement and drama area. And while we should all hope for a drama-free journey for sweet Emily to find love, it's reality TV. So we need drama. We're terrible people, aren't we? Shame.

Anyway, instead of watching it with Jo this week (she and her bf, Pierce, were celebrating their four year anniversary...love y'all!), I headed over to Greenville to have a girl's night with my brother's gf, Kait, and we had so much fun! It started out at Buffalo Wild Wings, followed by froyo (duh), and then The Bachelorette!
Perfect night any day of the week, if you ask me. :)

Okay, I've kept y'all waiting long enough. Let's get this show on the road.

First up: Sean's one-on-one date
Let me just get this out really quickly.
YAYYYY!
I was so excited y'all. Sean has very quickly and effortlessly become my favorite. Not only he is drop dead amazingly handsome, but he is just so genuine. And he's not afraid to show it. I love how often he talks about his parents' love and how much he wants to emulate that (...with Emily ;)). He is so humble and sweet and compassionate and I just love him.
And I just loved their date. It was simple, which I will say again, is how I think they should be. It's easy to fall in love with someone when you're scaling mountains and bungee jumping and swimming with sharks, but this was a normal date that anyone could go on and that's how it should be.
Double-decker bus tour, walking through London, taking pictures (kissing) in front of Buckingham Palace, and having dinner in a prison.
Okay, maybe that last part wasn't so normal, but you get the picture.
 Got me...

Why yes, Sean, I most certainly will. ;)

Alright, enough gushing over Sweet Sean.

Moving on: the group date
I gotta be honest with y'all. I kinda lost interest in the actual "date" part of the date. I found it extremely boring. Sorry, I'm not sorry producers. I'm just not a theatre and drama buff and just thought it was a little..stupid. However, I do see the reasoning in Emily's choosing this date. She said she wanted to see the guys be able to let go and just make fun of themselves because that's how you have to be when you have a young child, which is very true. So points for her in that sense, but I still think they could've picked a different date.
Anyway, someone should really joust Ryan right off of his high horse. I'm past irritated, leaning more towards utterly disgusted. He is so cocky and just all-around annoying. Picking on poor Arie for having to play a woman....grow up already, Ryan!!
And of course, as the producers would have it, Ryan is chosen to be Romeo. I call foul play. But nonetheless, he was pretty funny..once you got past his arrogance about playing the part.
However, he didn't have anything on Arie who totally pleased Emily with how much he "let go" of himself and just had fun with it. He had me rolling. And when he made the headlining comment about Ryan? I fell in love all over again. "Hey Ryan, thoust suck". Yes, Arie, he does. And don't worry, Em's got her eyes way more focused on you.

Now, on to my favorite part: the downfall of Kalon.
Oh, I've been waiting for this day since...a few weeks ago. Anyway, it finally happened Monday night and it was all I could do not to laugh when Miss Emily layed into his selfish butt.
Get 'em, girl.
I think we could all tell that Kalon was bad news bears from the first night when he tried to be all Mr. Suave and swoop in on a helicopter. Personally, I wasn't that impressed. Nobody likes a show-off, buddy. And in case you hadn't heard, nobody likes hearing their kid referred to as "baggage", either.
I mean, c'mon, dude. Use some common sense.
His pitiful defense also had me doubling over in laughter. Kalon, you got caught. You're a total d-bag and now everyone knows it. You should've just left on your own and allowed Emily to spare her pretty little mouth from saying that dirty little word.
Yes, Kalon..you are very screwed...up. Only a seriously screwed up person would apply to be on the single mom season of the Bachelorette and refer to her kid as baggage.

Serious kudos to Emily for standing her ground and handling things as 'graceful' as she possibly could. She is such a strong lady and I admire her greatly.

And as for my thoughts on her disappointment in the guys' not telling her before then, I agree with her on some levels. I see how she would be disappointed and how it would make her question their intentions, BUT at the same time..I would expect her to understand the whole "not wanting to talk bad about others because then it makes you look bad and it starts drama" syndrome that is so often evident in Bachelor/Bachelorette seasons. Emily/Ben/Courtney, Ali/Jake/Vienna, William/Ashley H./Ben C. ...need I say more? Didn't think so.

Bottom line..I'm glad Kalon's gone! And glad he was gone before the rose ceremony so she didn't have to hug him and pretend that she was sad that he was leaving. ;)

Next up: Jef's one-on-one date.
While Jef isn't my absolutely favorite, I do love him and think that he, besides Sean, is probably the most genuine person there. He is so into Emily (even though he hadn't shown it up until now) and I think he has a good head on his shoulders. His outfits just REALLY throw me for a loop sometimes. But I generally try to not judge a book by it's cover SO, I still like him.
Once again, I thought the first part of their date was a little....stupid.
Ok, A LOT stupid. Etiquette lessons? Really, producers? REALLY? You guys need some help in the date planning department.
Yowzers.

Bottom line, Jef is super sweet and he thinks Emily is his "fairy tale princess" and..drumroll please...

HE FINALLY KISSED HER!!!!!

Ooooh, I can't believe it.
Why yes, I was just quoting T-Pain.

Even though he's not my pick for the final guy, I appreciate Jef's genuineness and how much he cares for Emily's happiness! Sweet guy.

Lastly: the rose ceremony
Nothing too dramatic going on here, guys. Except for the fact that she lets it come down between Arie and Alejandro because she's so disappointed that Arie didn't tell her about Kalon sooner that she makes him sweat a little.
Ding Ding.
I think that's the only sign we need to know that she is the most interested in Arie, which is already evident by their super passionate kisses and how much she talks about him.
But obviously, Arie does get the final rose and poor, sweet Alejandro is sent back to his suspicious mushroom farm.
Looks like you're on your own, buddy.

Did you guys predict that it was Kalon who referred to Ricki as baggage? Do you agree with Em making Arie sweat a little? Do you like Sean or Jef more? Let me know!!

Well, that's all I have guys! Hope you enjoyed my slight attempt at being funny!

Have a fab hump day, y'all! xo

"i'm a catch" [bachelorette recap #4]

Hope y'all are having fabulous Tuesday mornings so far!
Tuesdays are possibly my favorite days for blogging because I get to link up with the wonderful Meg over at More from Meg for...

TheBacheloretteDish

YAY! And let me warn ya, I got a lot to say. So, let's get started!

Once again, I missed the first 30 minutes due to the fact that I didn't get off work until 8:00 and I may or not may have gotten pulled for speeding on my way back into town...
Let me soften the blow here by saying that prior to this..I had never been stopped for anything before. I'm almost glad that I finally got stopped because it took the pressure of "I've never been pulled before..omg knock on wood!" away. I squeezed by with only a warning ticket from the very gracious policeman because of my squeaky clean driving and criminal record. Whew. Oh, and since I work at an ice cream/shaved ice/sno-cone stand, I have about 30 jugs of flavored syrups in the back of my Tahoe and guess who asked me to open up the back just so he could take a little look-see and making sure it wasn't moonshine or meth anything suspicious. Just in case you were wondering, I passed that test with flying colors.

Okay, back to the Bachelorette!
I missed the one-on-one date with Douglas, but I'm not too upset over it.
Don't get me wrong, I don't hate him or anything, but he's definitely not my favorite..especially after he and Ryan tried to get all uppity about the fact that they're over 30 and the most mature. Yeah, right. The fact that you felt the need to make sure the other guys were aware of that shows your insecurities and immaturity. Just sayin'.
I really do think she likes Doug, but this face was too good to pass up. I had to put a caption to it. And I do think she likes Arie and Sean more than Doug, despite what his now huge ego believes...

Moving on: the group date
I missed about the first 5 minutes of this, but I caught the most important parts -- the race and after party!
I was split on who I wanted to win. I was totally team Red because of Sean, sweet Charlie, and Chris, but I wanted team Yellow because of precious Arie. But he was the only one I liked on that team so I was more team Red.....and they lost. Of course. Stupid Ryan and Kalon...hurl.

At the after party, sweet Emily confesses her love for Arie.
Ok, not really..but she does let him know how into him she is. (Yay!)
And her and Jef share what I think is yet another awkward encounter. I personally think he's too needy with that whole always needing to be reassured that she's into him when HE is the one who's not being affectionate whatsoever towards her. I'm not saying he should go suck her face off or anything, but dude...you're sitting together on a deserted beach in Bermuda....KISS HER ALREADY!!
Geez. You would think you wouldn't have to tell these guys to kiss the beautiful girl sitting in front of them but apparently, you do.
And also apparent is the fact that Emily finds Jef's lack of affection as a challenge and decides to give him the group date rose. Again. For the second time. ...Really?
I'm not saying I don't like him because I do, but ya gotta admit he is a little..."out there". But nonetheless, he seems extremely genuine and I admire that greatly.

Next up: the two-on-one date.
First of all, yikes. Two-on-one dates are always, always, always so painfully awkward that I can barely watch. I have been a fan of Nate since day one..he is so cute! But unfortunately he never got any camera time so I knew that his time with us would be cut short. Cue the tears. And I just don't really have any feelings about John. He's nice and probably really likes Emily, but I see him going home in about 2 weeks, if not next week.

 Lastly: the cocktail party/rose ceremony
Cue the arrogance, huh? This should have been called the testosterone party instead of the cocktail party.
I mean, really.
Could Ryan and Doug have been any higher on their horses? I don't think so.
All they could talk about was the fact that they were older and supposedly more mature than the others guys, especially Chris since he's only 25. I personally believe this is a big 'ole crock of you-know-what. I am firm believer that while age is a big factor in a person's maturity level, it is not the only factor. I'm only 20 years old, but I consider myself to be far more mature than some of my older friends, simply because of the experiences that I've gone through in my lifetime. I see Chris as being just as mature, if not more mature, than Doug and Ryan. Granted, he could've not pushed the subject so much and got in Doug's face, but I agree that he had a right to be angry. And Doug is just getting more arrogant by the second. All I'm sayin'.
Haha, I had to. ;)

Side note: Did anyone see Jef's outfit at the rose ceremony? I couldn't find a picture of it, but let's just say he better be glad that he already had a rose. Let me give you a visual: shorts with baseball socks. All I'm sayin'.

Another side note: I love Emily. Really. When she told Chris Harrison during their deliberation that Ryan was manipulative and thought he had her wrapped around his finger but he didn't, HAHA! She is my hero. So glad she's being smart about this and not getting caught up in the moment like Ashley Hebert did with Bentley...

Last side note: Anyone else notice that Ryan was acting like HE was the bachelor throughout this entire episode? Telling the guys that HE had questions for Emily and wanted to make sure that she was the one for him. I'm all for that because he does need to make sure that she's right for him as well, but don't try to take the spotlight for it. The show isn't about YOUR quest for love, Ryan. It's about hers.

Just one more: How sweet is Sean? I just love him. He's always so sweet to Emily and caring towards her every time they're together. If she doesn't pick him, I will.

In the end, Michael (whose sexuality I was beginning to question) and adorable Charlie were sent home. I personally thought it was going to be Michael and Alejandro, but Alejandro really tried to reassure Emily of his intentions during the party and I just don't think she could break his heart yet. But I'm going to miss the big teddy bear Charlie :(

Oh, and I'm betting serious money that it's stupid, self-centered Kalon that refers to Ricki as "baggage" next week. Thoughts?

What did you guys think about this episode? Were you Team Doug or Team Chris? Did you think Michael was a little too feminine? Are you favorites still your favorites? Who do you think refers to Ricki as "baggage"?

Head on over to see Meg and link-up and let us know!!
Have a fab Tuesday, y'all! xo

"i love it when you talk, but I really wish you'd let me finish" [

Happy Tuesday!!
Everybody know what Tuesday means??
.....
....
BACHELORETTE RECAP!
Whoop whoop, yeah.
Linking up with the wonderful Meg over at More from Meg and Anne from Hell on Heels for...

TheBacheloretteDish

I so love this link-up. And I especially love knowing that I'm not the only one who is so infatuated with this ultimately love-dooming show.

Before I start, I must confess that I missed the first half of the show due to work :(
BOO!
But I caught the second, and in my opinion the best, half of the show.
ARIE AND DOLLY PARTON.
More on that, later.

First up: Chris' one-on-one date
Like I said, I missed this. But of course Jo caught me up on it. Apparently Luke Bryan sang for them. Jealous. He is so sexy. Personally, I would have hated to be Chris at that moment cause you know all Em was thinking was "I'll shake it for ya, Luke".
Anyway, I also heard that Em was a little taken aback by the fact that Chris is only 25. I believe she may have overreacted a little bit at first. Granted she eventually came to her senses about the situation, but it's been obvious from day one that Chris is wise beyond his years and she should've only dwelt on that other than his actual age. Regardless, I think she's already forgotten about that little mishap anyway.
Still rooting for Chris!!
Oh, and one more thing...scaling a building??
How original....

Moving on: the group date.
I missed this, too. But Jo told me all the important parts and I actually did see some of the little party after the actual date (where she gave Sean the rose, YAY!) Anyway, her friends grilled the guys with important (and sometimes not so important) questions. I personally think this was a brilliant idea because being a single mom, Em really needs some second opinions early on just to make sure she's making the right decisions and not being blinded by LoOoOvE.
Jo told me that Em's friends were captivated by Sean (little Owen Hunt), and I thought duh! Why wouldn't they be?! He's super handsome and you can just tell that he's genuine. No doubt about it. And I loved what he said about his parents -- melted my heart.
Jo also informed me about Em's overly flirtatious friend, Wendy. Newsflash honey: you're not the bachelorette. Leave the flirting to Em. And don't ask any more of the guys to take their shirts off. Especially not sweet and innocent Sean.
What was she thinking?!
Oh, that makes sense.
Another note --glad she sent Tony home. I did feel bad that he missed his kid, but at the end of the day I think he was just fishing for compliments and reassurance. Glad Em took the initiative and sent him home.
Yet another note --Ryan is no longer on my good list. I cannot believe he had the audacity to say "you're not allowed to get fat if we get married"....seriously?! Not only did you leave your kid behind in the group date, but you interrupted girl time..and then said THAT?! You just dropped about 20 pts. in my book. Currently strongly regretting my decision to pick him as the winner on my bracket. Ugh. And the previews for the weeks to come are NOT looking good for Ryan. What a jerk....

 Next up: Arie's one-on-one date
Arie, Arie, Arie...I love you. More than Em. I promise. Come find me.
Just kidding. Kinda.
Anyway, this date was SO precious. I've never been to Dollywood, but I always think these amusement park dates are the cutest.
First off, how cute is she?! Love her.
Secondly, check out those googly eyes she's giving him. Struck by love, I tell ya.
Dolly Parton surprising her was so sweet and Em's nervousness was adorable.
Girl talk with Dolly? Sign me up, please.
I really, really, really like Arie.
He seems so into Emily and he's already so protective of her (did you see him at the rose ceremony after Alessandro pissed her off?!).
Long story short -- Arie is now my number one choice, with Sean coming in a close, close second.

Lastly: the rose ceremony.
Gonna keep this short because I need to go get ready for work, haha.
Alessandro shows his butt and says that marrying Em and taking on Ricki would be a compromise. Bad move, buddy. Baaaaad move.
You're out before the ceremony even begins. Ouch.
In the end, Stevie is sent home (along with Tony and Alessandro). And stupid Kalon stays.

Did y'alls opinion of Ryan change in this episode? Are Sean and Arie your favorites as well? Link-up with Meg and Anne and let us know!!

Have a wonderful Tuesday!! xo
