all about my hair...part 2

Ok, so I know that I told y'all I would do a recap of my big brother's college graduation today...but then I realized that I never did the second part of the "all about my hair" blog! Whooops!

So, I'll do that today and the grad recap tomorrow..promise :)

But really, where to begin? My hair does all kinds of things with the styles. It's naturally curly...like really naturally curly. Not wavy..CURLY. It was wavy when I was younger and just got gradually curlier as I got older. Kill me. Just kidding. Kinda.
I know most people would kill for curly hair with volume, but trust me...it can be a little much to handle sometimes.
Until I was about 13/14..I had no idea how to tame it. It just went everywhere! So I started straightening it almost everyday. It eventually became a lot less curly on its own..but was still super frizzy.
Anyways, I finally learned to embrace the natural curls a couple years ago and now I love them! But I still like to curl them with an iron and straighten them from time to time.
Here's my hair in all its different personalities forms...don't laugh too hard!

kinda hard to see my hair since it's blending in..but those curls are every bit of natural
this was about 4/5 years ago

POOF..there it is. But really.
This was a little over 2 years ago, senior year of HS. I'm telling y'all..people recognized me by my hair. No joke.

this isn't really a hairstyle..but I just wanted y'all to note all of that FRIZZ
This was also 2 years ago...in Snowshoe, WV on a ski trip...in 20 degree weather...and my hair STILL FRIZZES. I know..poor me, right?

The picture on the left...before graduation.
The picture on the right...after graduation.
Oh, humidity how I DESPISE you with every bit of my being..

curling iron curls
Little over a year ago. Love my hair like this, but it takes about 45 min. or so to do :/ no fun!

one of my senior pictures
This is about as straight as my hair will ever get..because these were taken inside RIGHT after I straightened my hair. Take that, humidity!
Otherwise, my "straight" hair looks like this..

See how it looks all coarse and dull instead of shiny and soft? Yeah, no bueno. :(

The moral of the story: just deal with whatever hairstyle you were given and work it the best ya can. 'Cause hair is gonna do what hair wants to do. I learned that the hard way. And the expensive way...(I've tried a chemical straightener, burned up about 10/11 straighteners and 2/3 hairdryers, and hundreds of products that professionals "swear" will work. Ha, yeah right.)

Hope you've enjoyed laughing looking at my crazy hair chronicles.

Do you guys ever struggle with your hair and the humidity, or are you one of the lucky ones? What products do you find work best? Let me know!

Have a fabulous Tuesday, loves! xo

all about...my hair

 Morning, y'all!
Hope this post is finding you having a tremendous Thursday already!

I got the idea for this blog post a few weeks ago, and then I forgot about it. My bad.
But I randomly remembered this morning! Yay! So without further adieu..

We're gonna talk about my hair, y'all.
Yeah, you heard right. My hair. And it's many, many different personalities.
All of which love to annoy the living daylights out of me on a daily basis. Ahhh!

I figure the best way to do this is to just throw a bunch of pictures at ya that chronicle the life of my hair.
Oh, and this is gonna be a two-part post. There's just that much to talk about. Anyways, I'll talk about all the colors of it today, and the styles on Monday.
So, here goes.

 First up: the color revolution.

Around 5-6 years old - blonde, blonde, BLONDE

9-10 years old (yes,  I was a giant) - getting a little darker

11-12 years old, Easter - a lot darker, all natural at this point
Oh, and don't even think about hatin' on my super cool shoes ;)

14, almost 15 years old, end of freshman year of HS
Highlighted for the first time, trying to keep it light

15, almost 16 years old, end of sophomore year of HS
I know, I look completely different. I don't know what happened, but I'm glad it did. Whew!
Anyways, dyed my hair dark for the first time (for prom). Loved it!

16 years old, beginning of junior year of HS
Went for the edgy look over the summer - it's dark brown on the bottom, blonde on top.

still 16, just a few weeks after the previous picture
Dyed it much darker for my Junior Miss pageant pictures. Didn't want the judges thinking I was a punk with two-toned colored hair ;)  Plus, I thought the dark looked sophisticated and made me look older.

17 years old, beginning of senior year of HS
Lightened it a little over the summer, still dark though.

18 years old, senior HS prom
Went back blonde just for prom..thought it went well with the dress! :P

19 years old, end of freshman year at UNC
Just kinda letting it go, hadn't dyed it in about a year.

19, almost 20 years old, Easter - sophomore year at UNC
Dyed it back dark for the first time in 3 years..
..and I am loving it!

Come back Monday to see me chronicle the styles of my crazy, psycho hair!

Do you guys love to change up your hair color/styles as much as I do? What's your favorite look? Let me know!

Have a wonderful rest of your Thursday! xo
