Monday Mash-up #1

Happy Monday!
Hope y'all are returning to blog land from having absolutely fabulous weekends!
Mine was rather "chill", but still fabulous -- basically just a lot of spending time with the family and relaxing and watching Miss USA, college softball, and the NBA finals.
But, sadly, it's time for another long work week. At least I have The Bachelorette to look forward to tonight! Too bad Jordan is at the beach and we can't watch together. :(
Oh, well...that's what phones & skype are for!

Today I'm joining the lovely Mrs. Monologues for...

Here we go!

Reading
I just picked up a new book off of my mom's bookshelf..
So. In. Love.
I'm generally a love-story sucker..but this is far from a love story. It's a murder/thriller story and I am HOOKED! Only about 1/4 of the way through, but I plan to be finished by Friday.

Music
I'm currently watching Live! With Kelly and this lovely guy is singing his new single "Sweeter"..
Gavin DeGraw.
I've always been a fan -- beginning 9 years ago when his first hit single (that I can remember) "I Don't Wanna Be" became the theme song for One Tree Hill. Ahhhh, the good days.

Miss USA
Did anyone else watch last night?! I consider it to be one of life's small tragedies if I miss the Miss USA pageant. I just love these things. Sadly, Miss North Carolina didn't even make it into the Top 16, which I would say is absurd because she is drop-dead-beautiful...but all of the girls were drop-dead-beautiful, so..yeah.
Anyways, Miss South Carolina did make it into the Top 16 so I decided to pull for her, but she didn't make it to the Top 10 so then I just stopped pulling for people and watched to be watching, haha!
It came down to Miss Maryland and Miss Rhode Island and Miss Rhode Island ended up being crowned Miss USA 2012, which I thought she was very deserving of, considering her final question asked her thoughts on whether or not it would be fair for a transgender woman to win the crown over a natural born woman. I didn't necessarily agree with her answer, but it was nonetheless a great answer to the question and she handled it flawlessly.
Just beautiful!

Foodie Love
I love a good cracker, and I just found the most amazing crackers ever at Wal-Mart last week...
Spread some Laughing Cow on these babies and you've got LUNCH.
Go get them...now. You won't be disappointed.

Love Miss America more than Miss USA but really enjoyed Miss USA last night. I watched it with my aunt, grandfather and mom! I was pulling for rhode island and georgia once it hit the top 5, but really liked oklahoma and new jersey as well. lol. North Carolina stood out to me more than SC this year and i also thought she should have gone farther!
